Nigerian Breweries Promises unique consumer experience at Ojude Oba Festival

Nigeria’s foremost brewer, Nigerian Breweries Plc has pledged its commitment to bring pomp and excitement to this year’s Ojude Oba festival, a cultural event that brings the sons and daughters of Ijebuland together and attracts local and foreign tourists to the heart of Ogun State during the Eid el Kabir celebrations. The Company announced two of its leading brands, Goldberg Lager Beer and Maltina as major sponsors of the festival.

Speaking at the press conference to unveil plans for the 2015 edition of the festival in Ijebu-Ode recently, the Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Kufre Ekanem disclosed that Goldberg will be on-ground at the carnival to fete consumers. He said the brand will set up a beer village at the Dipo Dina stadium, Ijebu-Ode where locals and tourists can enjoy Goldberg Lager Beer amid the fun fare of a musical carnival.

The Corporate Affairs Adviser who was represented by the Public Affairs Manager West/Mid-West, Mr. Tayo Adelaja, also said that Maltina, Nigeria’s number one malt drink will also be available to share happiness with the people at the festival.

Meanwhile the Chairman of the 2015 Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Barrister Wahab Osinusi commended Goldberg and Maltina brands for lending support to the festival.

In his words, “Maltina has been supporting the festival for several years. Goldberg lager beer is making its second appearance as a sponsor of the Ojude Oba festival. We trust that our partnership will be enduring and mutually beneficial. We have been authoritatively informed that the company will be putting together a Goldberg beer village in Ijebu Ode from next week until the end of the festival, in addition to a music carnival. We seize this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to Nigerian Breweries for this gesture.”

The Ojude Oba festival is an annual festival held to celebrate religious tolerance that has prevailed in Ijebuland for over two centuries. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Harnessing Our Cultural Heritage for Economic Development”.
