The code of conduct bureau is seeking the arrest of the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, within two hours.
This followed the failure of Saraki to appear before the CCB Tribunal on Friday.
Saraki was summoned by the CCBT for prosecution over alleged failure to declare assets he allegedly acquired as Governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.
However, Saraki had on Thursday obtained a court injunction restraining the CCB, its Tribunal, the chairmen of both the CCB and the Tribunal and its lawyer, M. S. Hassan, from going ahead with the trial.
The Federal High Court also ordered all the parties to appear before it on Monday to show cause why they must go ahead with the trial of Saraki.
However, despite the injunction, the Tribunal proceeded with Saraki’s trial on Friday.
Saraki was absent.
Only his lawyer, Mhamud Magaji, was in court when the case was opened.
Following this development, Hassan called for the arrest of the Senate president by the police within two hours.
He sought the issuance of a bench warrant for Saraki.
