Millions Naira Alleged Embezzlement: EFCC Summons Kingsley Kuku

The last may not have been heard about the way and manner funds for the Amnesty Programme were executed, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has summoned former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Kingsley Kuku.
New Telegraph gathered from highly placed sources at the EFCC’s headquarters in Abuja Friday, that an
invitation has since been sent to Kuku, who oversaw the Amnesty Programme, to appear before a crack team of investigators at the Commission’s headquarters on July 28.
It was further learnt that Jonathan’s former adviser will be grilled over alleged embezzlement of Amnesty fundsrunning into hundreds of millions of naira. Speaking with New Telegraph in confidence, one of the sources said: “It is true that the anti-graft agency has invited Mr. Kingsley Kuru and two others, over allegations of embezzlement and fraudulent diversion of funds running into hundreds of millions of naira.“As a matter of fact, Kuku is expected to appear before a team of interrogators at the EFCC office on Tuesday, 28th July, 2015.”
There has been concerns over what may be the fate of the Amnesty Programme under the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration, against the backdrop of the fact that no definite pronouncement has really been made on the programme that was initiated by the Federal Government, to engage ex-militants, who renounced militancy in the Niger Delta.
There have also been reports that somebeneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme, were stranded outside the country. New Telegraph also gathered authoritatively, that operatives of the anti-graft agency had, on July 22, interrogated another former Special Assistant to the former President on Schools and Agricultural programme, Mrs. Baraka Sani. According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity: Mrs Sani was questioned for more than 10 hours on that day by operatives of the agency, over allegation that she diverted funds meant for the schools agricultural programme.
