Outstanding people are easily recognized by their unique traits and attributes right from their childhood period. The story of Splendour Joe Abisoye, a nine year old girl, who has just authored a book on the menace of terrorism and its effects on children, is heartwarming and exceptional.
Her book titled ‘EFFECTS OF TERRORISM ON CHILDREN’ narrates her experience during her visitation to an Internally Displayed Persons (IDP) camp in the North. The book dwells on what the children who are victims of terrorism temporarily living in this IDP camp told her during her interactions with them.
Having written the book, Splendour deems it necessary to present it to the Director, Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on 2nd of July, 2015. It is her belief that the book will make Nigerian military know the extent to which children suffer from the activities of terrorists and react to it promptly by proffering solutions to this menace of terrorism.
She was accompanied to the Army Headquarters by her parents Rev. and Mrs Joe King Abisoye. Receiving the book, Gen Olukolade applauded her for writing it.
