Naijahottestgist has just reliably gathered that the House of Representatives session to be held this morning may turn out unpleasant.
This is in connection with the failure of the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to read to the hearing of the House members a former letter from the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC), endorsing approved principal officers of the House to be constituted for the 8th House of Representatives.
According to information given to Naijahottestgist by our reliable source, House members belonging to Hon. Gbajabiamila group of APC held a meeting at the middle of the night and unanimously agreed that they would not allow session to hold today if the Speaker refuses to read the letter. This meeting, Naijahottestgist gathered, continued until 4.am today.
It would be recalled that the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun had written to Senator Saraki and Speaker of the House of Reps, Hon. Dogara, indicating approved principal officers for the National Assembly as unanimously agreed by the party.
The letter of Chief Oyegun to Dogara reads thus…
“Please find below for your necessary action names of principal officers approved by the party after extensive consultations for the eighth House of Representatives as follows: Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (House Leader) South-West; Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa (Deputy House Leader)—North-West; Hon. M. T. Monguno(Chief Whip)—North-East; and Hon. Pally Iriase (Deputy Chief Whip)—South-South. This comes with the assurances of my highest regards.”
However, Hon. Dogara was alleged to have refused to give his consent to the recommendations of the leadership of his party. This had necessitated the meeting held by APC members of the House, who are on the same page with APC Chairman, where they resolved to disrupt holding of session today should Hon. Dogara refuse to read the letter.
