The Lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II Hon Segun Olulade has expressed confidence that Lagos State government will live above board in providing succour to Lagosians in view of the current reality of austerity measure affecting the entire states in the country due to poor management of national resources in the recent past.
Olulade said this while responding to questions from journalists concerning dwindling economic situation of the country and survival of Lagos.
The second-term lawmaker said the coming of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is laden with the reality of good governance knowing well that Mr Ambode’s background in economic and finance issues is vast and indeed asset for taking the state through the thin economic condition we are confronted with.
The Epe II Lawmaker however called on Lagosians particularly the civil service work force not to entertain any fear about the economic future of Lagos State but rather brace up to give adequate supports to the government at ensuring good condition of services for its workforce as well as guaranteeing better lives for every Lagosian.
In the opinion of Hon Olulade, “Lagos has been surviving and will continue to survive in spite of the current economic meltdown. We as Lawmakers will continue to promote laws that will help the Executive to deliver result driven governance in the best interest of the good people of Lagos. Our state will even come out stronger and better given the economic plans and world-class strategic design being employed by the Governor”.
In conclusion, Olulade appealed to Lagosians to see this period as the appropriate time needed by Akinwunmi Ambode led government to lay bricks of development and good governance as evident in Ministry and Parastatal re-structuring being done by the Governor. While commending Mr Ambode for his initiatives on declaration of Lekki-Epe toll free and holistic approach to forestalling ugly incidences of fallen petrol tankers across the State, he said he was confident that Lagos will attain an ideal mega-status under the present government.
