ABIKE DABIRI SETS TO BECOME THE NEXT LAGOS SSG (BY KOLA POPSON)

Hon. Kafayat Abike Dabiri-Erewa is set to become the next Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Lagos.
A reliable source, who has revealed this on the condition of anonymity, noted that Hon. Abike Dabiri has been unanimously marked by the leaders of All Progressive Congress in Lagos State as the next Secretary to the State Government in the incoming administration of Akinwunmi Ambode.
It is worth noting that Hon. Abike Dabiri is presently a third-term serving member of the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has been a member of the Federal House of Representatives since 2003.
Since the official declaration of General Muhammad Buhari of All Progressive Congress as the winner of the 2015 Presidential election, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, it was reliably gathered, has been lobbying for an appointment at the Federal level. However, the leaders of her party, having zoned the position of the next Lagos SSG to Ikorodu division, believe that Hon. Dabiri would better fit into this vital position of Lagos State than occupying any position at the Federal level.
Hon. Dabiri-Erewa has been very faithful and loyal to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since she joined politics in 2003. Many believe that her faithfulness to Asiwaju Tinubu had actually earned her the party ticket to contest for the third term in the 2011 House of Representatives election, as she would have been defeated by other aspirants at the primary level. Though primary election had been conducted then, and she won, many believed this was due to the influential power of Asiwaju Tinubu on the delegates and the party as a whole. It would be recalled that Hon. Abike Dabiri had been a journalist and broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) before she eventually decided to join politics.
