LAGOS POLICE COMMAND ASSURE RESIDENTS OF SAFE, PEACEFUL, SECURE STATE

948Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday assured residents of their readiness to ensure that the State remains calm and peaceful saying they would work in collaboration with other security agencies in the State to make the environment safe for trade and commerce.

Fielding questions from newsmen after the weekly State Security Council meeting presided over by Governor Babatunde Fashola SAN, at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, said the Police and other security agencies were alert to ensure the security of life and property in all parts of the State.

Noting that there are some security challenges currently at hand, the Commissioner said his Command and other security agencies were addressing such challenges “frontally and in a very comprehensive manner” assuring that in a couple of days and weeks Lagosians would see the results of their efforts.

He told the newsmen, “We have all decided to come together to strategize and put in place all these comprehensive measures to secure this State. We shall continue to work hard to ensure that Lagos remains peaceful, remains as vibrant and economically friendly to all investors”.

Expressing confidence in the ability of security agencies to make the State a no-go area for criminals, the Police boss asked residents to go about their lawful businesses without fear adding, “We are all working together, all the security agencies here present, to maintain the present crime level in Lagos State which is very low, so things are pretty good here with us”.

The Commissioner was accompanied at the press briefing by other members of the Security Council including Commander NNS Beecroft, Olokun Apapa, Navy Commodore Teikum Ikoli, Commander Air force Base Ikeja, Air Commodore Lere Osanyintolu, Commander 9 Mechanized Brigade, Major General Ahmed Mohammed Sabo, Director State Security Service, Mr. Ben Olayi and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Major Tunde Panox (Rtd).
