BREAKING NEWS: Ekiti Deputy Speaker Escapes Dawn Arrest

Ekiti Deputy speaker, Rt Hon Adetunji Orisalade early this morning escaped ambush by Fayose’s thugs in an operation clinically planned to seize the Deputy Speaker in his country home, Ilogbo-Ekiti.
The advance team of the “arresting party” arrived Ilogbo at 3am. The plan was to surround his house to forestall his escape until the arresting party joins at 5am to effect his arrest. Reports said one Oluaye, one of the senior drivers in the House of Assembly‎, was in the team. His duty was to impound the Deputy Speaker’s car and drive it down to Ado-Ekiti.
But the plan leaked, and before their arrival at 3am, the Deputy Speaker had changed location. On their arrival at 3am, they laid siege ‎to his house until 5am when the arresting party arrived.
The operation is part of the clampdown on senior officials of APC administration in a lawless raid to seize their official cars which government purchased on a repayment agreement. Deductions are made from the officials’ salaries every month. More than half of repayments had already been made before Fayose’s inauguration, yet the governor is bent on harassing these officials with arrests to take them out of circulation or stampede them out of town ahead of election to ‎deny them opportunity to rally their supporters for APC victory.
He had earlier arrested Biodun Akin-Fasae, Wole Ariyo, Dr Bayo Orire and several others. Early yesterday, Biodun Omoleye had his car impounded.
Attempt to arrest Hon Orisalade is a clear act of brigandage and lawlessness because the House of Assembly matter is in court‎ and court papers duly served the governor through his lawyer, Deacon Dele Adesina in the matter of illegal and unlawful removal of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. But Fayose has no respect for the law and so he has taken it upon himself to use thugs to chase political opponents around.
