Arrangements for this year’s Cowbell National Secondary Schools Mathematics Competition (NASSMAC) have been concluded as the company visited the Lagos State Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye to acquaint her of the activities lined up for the annual event.
Mr. Abiodun Ayodeji, Category Manager – Diary, Promasidor Nigeria, the organizers of the competition; who led the company’s team to the Commissioner’s office in Alausa, Lagos disclosed that Promasidor was ready to flag off the campaign as every necessary detail has been perfected to ensure successful implementation of the scheme.
On the objectives of the campaign, Ayodeji explained that the need to awaken the consciousness and interest of students in mathematics in Nigeria cannot be underestimated. He said Promasidor realized this; hence its involvement in the organization of the competition over the years.
Meanwhile, he acknowledged the support the campaign has enjoyed from the state government since inception in 1998; saying the backing annually gives credence to the contest which students and their teachers look up to every year.
Mrs. Grace Ebun Oladimeji, the acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry, who represented the Commissioner during the visit, commended Promasidor for its resolute decision to organize the mathematics competition inspite of other commitments.
According to her, Promasidor has successfully made an indelible mark for itself in terms of its commitment and sponsorship of the NASSMAC every year. She said the public might not attach so much important to the contribution, but the youth whose lives are directly touched through the campaign will ever remember the experience.
Corroborating Mrs. Oladimeji’s commendation, Mr. Bayo Ibiyeye, Director, Science and Technology for the Ministry noted that Lagos State has, over the years, recorded the highest number of school participation in the competition. He promised that his team will mobilize many more schools in the state to participate in this year’s edition. His words: “We will mobilize our members to ensure more people participate in the competition this year.”
PLEASE I REQUIRED YOU UPDATE AT ANY TIME. THANKS.
