Labaran Maku, erstwhile Information Minister under the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, and a former People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate for Nassarawa State, formally decamped to the ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE (APGA), last week.
Mr. Maku, a seasoned journalist and information guru, was welcomed to the Party by the National Chairman – Chief Victor Umeh KSJ, OFR on behalf of the APGA National Executives and teeming supporters, Nationwide. The National Chairman congratulated Mr. Maku on his choice of party, saying that the APGA was looking for a few upstanding men who share and will help spread the APGA ideals of a free, strong, tolerant, united and prosperous Nigeria, where all may live freely, contribute to, and pursue a meaningful livelihood without ethnic, religious, social, cultural or other restrictions and misgivings.
Mr. Maku thanked the APGA executives for welcoming him into the party, and pledged to work alongside the party executives to attain its ideals. Mr. Maku extolled the virtues of APGA, including working for increased unity towards a centrist and Federalist Nigeria.
Earlier, Mr. Maku’s name was formally adopted by the APGA Party hierarchy in Nassarawa State, in consultation with APGA National Headquarters, Abuja, and formally submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the APGA Governorship candidate for Nassarawa State. The New Candidate said he will do all to have the APGA Flag Flying at the Nassarawa State House in 2015.
Mr. Maku has since began campaign.
