Many people in Jalingo were taken unawares as there appeared to be no prior information about the governor’s return to the state. Suntai’s Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Mijinyawa, could not be reached for comment last night.
He had earlier issued a statement announcing the arrival of Suntai in the country but was silent on when the governor would come to the state. Suntai arrived Jalingo when the acting governor, Garba Umar was away in Abuja.
Spokesman to Taraba Acting Governor, Aaron Artimas told Daily Sun that his boss was aware Suntai has arrived in Jalingo.
According to him, the State Government had been responsible for the medical expenses of the governor all along.
It was not clear as at the time of filing this report why Suntai was flown into the state, but sources said the ailing governor was back to reclaim his manda
