Former Speaker of House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, yesterday, told leaders of Peoples Democratic party, PDP, in the state, that he had no governorship ambition for now, contrary to expectations.
While addressing party members at the party’s Secretariat, in Abeokuta, after he paid a courtesy visit to the state PDP executives, Bankole hinted that the PDP had been mobilising members across the state for the forthcoming Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, distribution by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as part of efforts to boost PDP political chance in 2015 general elections.
Speaking on PDP’s loss in 2011, Bankole said: “We are not the only party with issues, we have learnt our lesson in a very hard way, especially with the results of the last elections in 2011. We don’t wish that to happen to us, that is why some of us are going round the state to make sure that we reconcile as many members as possible.”

we however, gathered that the former speaker was at the party secretariat to interface with the party leaders ahead of the 2015 governorship election, despite the claim by the state party chairman that the party had not “anointed any candidate for governorship.
