Wife of the Executive Governor of Kwara State and Founder, LEAH Foundation, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed has been honoured with an humanitarian award for her philanthropic gestures.
She was bestowed with the “Exceptional commitment to charity cause” award by UK-based HEN Foundation, a non-governmental charity organization on Saturday at the prestigious Hilton Hotel Paddington, London.
HEN Foundation seeks to empower individuals and organizations by making significant difference in the quality of life for people often forgotten – youth, women, children, homeless and hungry, elderly and the physically challenged.
The award certificate and plaque were presented to the Kwara First Lady by the Chief Host and Grand Custodian of the HEN Foundation awards, Mr David Wardrop, who described the event as “a huge platform upon which deserving individuals are celebrated.”
President of the HEN Foundation, Mr. Jamil Eniola, noted that the Kwara first lady got the award because of her exceptional commitment to charity.
“The Kwara first lady through her LEAH Foundation has put smiles on the faces of countless Kwarans by empowering them and her unparalleled contributions to Social welfare, health and education”, he said.”
