Ekiti Decides Okada riders declare support for Fayose

Scores of commercial motorcycle operators, otherwise known as okada riders  on Friday, held a rally in  Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, to show solidarity for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ayo Fayose, in the June 21 governorship election.
About 3,000 of the commercial motorcyclists  gathered at the  GRA in the state capital, with their leader, Mr. Dahunsi Olaniyi, who declared  they had come to show support for Fayose, whom  according to them,  performed  well during his tenure as the state governor.

Olaniyi stated that  it was the wish of the commercial motorcyclists that adequate security be provided on the election day.
“We want  the Federal Government  to deploy  soldiers and other security agencies  to  Ekiti  State on the day of election to monitor the poll.
“This will guarantee adequate security  on that day,” he said.
The commercial motorcyclists who displayed their voter cards, said they  came with their voter cards “to  prove as false, the rumour doing the rounds that they had no cards and were mostly from neighbouring states.
Addressing the cyclists, Fayose thanked them for their support and urged them to vote for him on June 21.
Fayose said: “If you vote for me, you are voting for your friend  and I promise to make life better for you,” he said.
He distributed helmets to the cyclists and promised  a better operational environment.
