Ekiti 2014: Fayose didn’t lock me up — Monarch as Fayose changes Running mate

The Alafao of Afao,Oba Joseph Adebare Ademilua has said it was not true that the former governor of the state, Mr Ayodele Fayose locked him inside his palace to prevent him from attending to Governor Kayode Fayemi during the governorfs campaign tour to Afao Ekiti last weekend.

The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation had at the weekend accused the Fayose of locking up the monarch in the palace to prevent him from attending to Dr Fayemi.
Speaking with newsmen in his palace in Afao Ekiti yesterday ,Oba Ademilua said the statement credited to Daniel was erroneous.

According to him, on the eve of Fayemi’s visit to his town, he, the Oba summoned all the chiefs and other stake holders on how they would receive and welcome Fayemi to the town.

‘But no sooner had we taken the decision than a rumour mill came that there would be trouble and crisis if Fayemi is going to visit me in the palace.

Therefore, when Fayemi eventually came, we had to change our decision a bit and we now decided to embark on a prayer session where we prayed for peace and tranquility in the town.
We had to do that because we don’t want a repeat of what happened at Iyin Ekiti.

On whether Mr Fayose had actually paid him a visit in the morning of that particular day and locked him up, Oba Ademilua said Fayose was not in town on that fateful day and therefore the former governor could not be in position to lock him up.

The monarch admitted that he has the highest respect for Dr Fayemi as a sitting governor and lover of peace and development of the state.
Oba Ademilua equally commended Fayose as one of the illustrious sons of the town and charged politicians to give peace a chance by working for the peace and progress of the state,meanwhile in a related development The PDP flag bearer for the June 21 Ekiti State gubernatorial election, Mr Ayo Fayose on Tuesday said the name of his running mate earlier submitted to INEC has been substituted.

Fayose-campaignThe name of an 80-year-old retired teacher, Pa Joshua Ojo, was earlier submitted to INEC as the candidate’s running mate.

The Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, Mr Dipo Anisulowo, who spoke on behalf of Fayose, disclosed this in Ado Ekiti.

He said that the name Dr Olubunmi Olusola, who is in his 50s, was forwarded to INEC as a replacement for Ojo.

“The name of Pa Joshua Ojo, earlier submitted to the electoral body was done to beat the April 28 deadline earlier set by INEC.
