Dungs, ex-Delta MILAD dies 48 hours after father’s death

A former Military Administrator of Delta State, Col David Dungs (retd.), slumped and died in Jos on Friday.

Dungs, 61, was said to have slumped in his Jos residence less than 48 hours after his father died.

“Baba got the news few minutes ago and he is in Jishe (Government House and Lodge) right now and he is just not ready to talk,” he said.

A former Minister of State, Agriculture, Dr. Jonah Madudu, expressed shock that in less than 24 hours, the Berom nation had lost two worthy sons.

“This is a tragedy because his father’s corpse is right now in the mortuary,” he said.

Dungs could be remembered as Delta State military administrator from August, 1996  to August, 1998, when his decision to move the headquarters of the Warri LG area from Ogbe-Ijoh, an Ijaw town, to Ogidigben in the Itsekiri area, sparked a wave of violence among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo.
