Former Ekiti State governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Ayo Fayose, has accused the Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, of imitating him, saying that a photocopy can never be like the original.
Acccording to a press statement issued by Fayose’s spokesman, Mr Idowu Adelusi, and made available to the press in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, on Friday, the PDP candidate stated that Fayemi had tried to identify with the masses but failed.
“I’m a friend to the man in the street, my administration will always focus on them.
“If Fayemi will identify with the common man, he must be prepared to walk in the street, eat at roadside restaurant, drink palm wine at joints and shop in the local market,’’ he said.
During his ward to ward tour in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the state, Fayose donated N500,000 for the completion of Ijesamodu Comprehensive High School hall in Ijesamodu Ekiti.
His last port of call was Ewu Ekiti where the monarch, Elewu of Ewu Ekiti, Oba Adetutu Ajayi, acknowledged that during his tenure as governor of the state, his government donated to the community, the sum of N5 million for the provision of electricity.
