Ajimobi off to London to attend British High Commission symposium

 
The governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, will be attending a British Deputy High Commission-organized symposium in London on Friday, March 7, 2014.
This was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Festus Adedayo.
Tagged Investing in Nigeria – Diaspora Investment Symposium, it will take place at the Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton, London.
According to Mr. Peter Carter, British Deputy High Commissioner, the purpose of the event is to “raise capital for flagship investment projects in Nigeria” and will be showcased to a pre-selected audience of “400 high net-worth members of the Nigerian Diaspora, alongside non-traditional institutional investors.”
The governor will use the opportunity of the forum to showcase investment-ready projects of the state government.
According to the statement, Ajimobi will present a paper entitled “Investing in Oyo State” at this sector-specific symposium, which will be an overview of the Nigerian economy and the investment opportunities in agriculture available in the state.
The Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, Carter,Eric Guichard, Chief Executive of Homestrings and Hon Kolapo Lawson, Chairman of Agbara Estates Ltd, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, UACN Property Development Company and the African Development Bank will make presentations at the symposium.
Governor Ajimobi will also be a guest of a member of the House of Lords, Lord Watson of Richmond, at a Commonwealth Day Observance at Westminster Abbey on March 10 and to be received by Her Majesty the Queen at Marlborough House as part of the activities to mark Nigeria’s centennial.
Said the statement, on March 11, Governor Ajimobi will also deliver a public lecture at the London School of Economics entitled ‘Nigeria: The next 100 years.’
The release said that the governor will be accompanied on the trip by the Commissioner of Trade, Investments and Cooperatives, Mrs. Oyefunke Oworu, Special Adviser Public Affairs, Mr. Toye Arulogun, Special Adviser, Budget and Planning, Mr. Yinka Kolawole and Special Adviser, Media, Dr. Adedayo.
