Flash: Man Slips Down Train Top To His Death At Oshodi (Viewer’s Discretion Advised)

A yet-to-be-identified man in his 30s fell from a moving train at Oshodi, Lagos early Wednesday morning, and died in the process.

Eye witnesses who spoke with News Bytes said the man who sat alongside scores of other commuters on the roof of the train was attempting to alight at Oshodi but slipped. The man was believed to be on his way to work.

The man who wore a brown security uniform was seen bleeding from his ears, lying lifeless close to the train track at Oshodi Underbridge.

A young man who simply identified himself as Ope, spoke with our correspondent and disclosed that this is a common occurrence as hundreds of people actually pay to get a train ride, even on top of the train, when the available spaces are already filled to capacity. These extras are referred to as ‘attachments”.

While many are concerned as to why commuters are allowed to sit on top of trains, more worrisome is the fact that these people actually pay, to get a sitting (or hanging) space, on the train, as confirmed by sources.

  1. This is sad. It shows our lack of regard for life. How can any sane person sit on top of a moving train. If one’s own life is not treated with care and protected how can such people have regard for other people’s life. Nigeria is nothing but a big jungle where it’s survival of the fittest and animal can eat another animal.
