The producer this morning sent a broadcast on BBM on the prevalent issue of Akilapas theft last sunday in Magodo area, where it was said that she was caught in a house with lots of keys in her brassiere. She was mercilessly beaten before taken to the police station. BELOW IS HIS STATEMENT:
YETUNDE AKILAPA is NOT a THIEF but a SPIRITUAL PROBLEM.
I was shocked like every other person when I received a blog stating that my colleague Yetunde Akilapa a budding actress & producer arrested 4 alledge invasion into a house in Magodo.
I was quick to appeal for decorum until it is adequately confirmed. Some could not wait and they like a fork-lift transported the story and fed the public to what seems to me like an incomplete story
I find it very hard to deny or distance myself from Yetunde as she is truly a junior colleague and someone I know. I made several calls and moves. My findings: The alledged occupants of the house honestly owned up they did actually found her in their house but the surprise part was that she was found taking a nap on dinning table & nothing found on her.
It resulted into beating as she could not state what her mission was and how she got into d house. She was later taken to d Station, they were not at that time sure if she wasn’t there for diabolical means.
She has since be released with d intervention of her lawyer Mr Bosun Osifowora & her family. And everybody present including her accusers & observers concluded it is a SPIRITUAL PROBLEM.
While d blogger that broke the news is entirely not to be blamed in dis context, it is however note-worthy that since most of bloggers like to act as journalists and now enjoy reporting with so much enthusiasm not just gossips but sensitive issues that could lead to libel, the onus is on them to apply caution and feed the innocent citizens with the truth or cull from a well detailed news. As yoruba will say” eti to ti gbo alo, o le ma gbo abo”. Bloggers should slow down, we have got blood running in our veins and we feed our dependants with this name and job.
Dis is not an attempt 2 cover up 4 theft, God sees my heart. I however appeal 2 Yetunde to move on, forgive all & get closer to God. May God heal her. I spoke to her this morning it was all tears.
I thank d public sincerely.
