In what seems to be the rave of the moment for high flyers Nigerian pastors and the political criminals, notorious militant, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo has joined in the craze as he has secured for his personal use a bombardier SE60 Lear Jet which aviation experts value at $13.3 million (N2.12 billion). Tompolo got hold of the private jet
on Monday 26th August 2013. The former most wanted Niger Deltan criminal according to sources in the know has began the payment for the jet since last year. Tompolo who became a household name during the militancy era is noted for leading guerilla attacks on oil company, particularly Shell Nigeria; an action which crippled the production capacity of all the oil companies resident in the Niger Delta domain.
In the heat of ‘battle’, late President Musa Yaradua decided to give amnesty to all repentant ‘warlord’, an opportunity which Tompolo and his rebel gangs grabbed with open hand. The amnesty agenda was completed by Tompolo bosom friend and kinsman, President Goodluck Jonathan, on the death of Musa Yaradua. President Goodluck on 9th November, 2011 with reference number PRES/99/MT/61 awarded the contract for the strategic concessioning partnership with NIMASA to provide platforms for tracking ships and cargoes, enforce regulatory compliance and surveillance of the entire Nigerian domain to Tompolo company, Global West Vessel Specialist Limited (GWVSL), at a whooping sum of N15 billion ($103.4million); a deal which will run for 10 years.
The recent acquisition of Tompolo’s toy it is alleged would be to help in ferrying ballot boxes and papers that will be used to rig the 2015 election in favour of the PDP presidential candidate, in the person of Mr. Goodluck Jonathan. With this extravagant waste of the country resources on a private jet, Tompolo enters the record book as first pardoned militant to buy such exclusive properties meant for honest businessmen.
Since the Jet was brought into the country, the 43 year old ex militant has not spoken a word on it
