APC Thugs Led by Omowaye and Famurewa Attack PDP Members, Leave Several Injured in Ilesa West By Babajide Fadoju

The Media wing of Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ilesa West Chapter strongly condemns the barbaric and unprovoked attack on our members and innocent citizens of Osun State today at Ilesa West Secretariat, Omialadiye, along Osogbo Road, Ilesa.

At approximately 2:00 PM, armed thugs, led by former Osun State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Oluremi Omowaye, and the APC chairmanship candidate in Ilesa West, Mr. Tobi Famurewa, stormed the venue of our peaceful political gathering. With reckless disregard for human lives, these criminals fired live bullets into the crowd, injuring PDP chieftains, including Hon. Tunde Ẹjẹ, Hon. Kasali, and an innocent young lady selling bread on the street.

Disturbingly, these thugs operated under the cover of security personnel, some dressed in Nigeria Police and DSS uniforms, raising serious questions about the involvement of state security agencies in this attack.

This act of political terrorism is not an isolated one—it is a continuation of the APC’s well-documented pattern of violence in Osun State. It is evident that these thugs were sent by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who remains desperate to destabilize the peace and democracy in Osun. Omowaye and Famurewa are merely his foot soldiers in Ilesa West executing his anti-democratic agenda.

We demand the immediate arrest and prosecution of Oluremi Omowaye and Tobi Famurawa for attempted murder, terrorism, and unlawful possession of firearms. We also call on the Inspector General of Police, the DSS, and other relevant security agencies to launch a full-scale investigation into the use of security operatives in aiding and abetting political violence.

We assure the good people of Ilesa West and Osun State that this attack will not deter us. Our commitment to democracy remains unshaken. We will pursue justice for the victims of this heinous crime and ensure that Osun remains a state where peace, fairness, and the rule of law prevail.
