I strongly condemn the political efforts to delegitimize the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This lawsuit is a blatant attempt to weaken an institution crucial to fighting corruption in the country.
Those behind this move are either corrupt or working to shield corrupt practices in Nigeria.
I welcome the stance of the, Benue state’s Governor Hyacinth Alia’s as it relates to the unauthorized involvement in the lawsuit, but the larger issue remains.
Nigerians must reject any effort to undermine the EFCC and support its mission. At the same time, we must demand that the EFCC goes beyond selective enforcement and addresses its limitations, ensuring transparency and accountability in all cases.
Sincerely,
Deji Adeyanju
