The Ogun State team competing at the ongoing 8th Nigeria Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, has been praised for its dedication, talent, and resilience. In a statement issued by the Ogun State Commissioner for Sports, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration reaffirmed its commitment to grassroots development, with a particular focus on engaging and empowering youth through sports. “Our government remains dedicated to providing our youth with opportunities to succeed, while fostering a culture of sportsmanship and leadership,” Hon. Isiaka stated.
Looking ahead, the state is preparing to host the highly anticipated National Sports Festival, branded as Gateway Games Ogun 2024, scheduled to take place in January 2025. Hon. Wasiu Isiaka expressed confidence that the event would be both hitch-free and memorable, further solidifying Ogun State’s reputation as a hub for sports and youth development.
