Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has made economic development a top priority for all citizens and residents of the state. This commitment is reflected in the establishment of the Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED).
According to the Director General of OYMASED Dr. Morohunkola Thomas said the agency is tasked with clarifying the state’s economic policy and educating the public on the laws and political processes. Dr. Thomas emphasized that the state is at a critical juncture, with widespread hunger and economic stagnation, and that the agency’s establishment is a response to this need.
OYMASED aims to mobilize and sensitize the public on socio-economic development, involving various government ministries, departments, and agencies. The agency’s advisory board includes representatives from the Ministries of Information, Environment, Local Government, Trade, Women Affairs, and BCOS.
Dr. Thomas expressed the agency’s commitment to continuous mobilization and sensitization for the upliftment of the state’s people. He acknowledged the importance of effective communication in motivating the public towards a common goal.
BCOS Chairperson, Chief Mrs. Dotun Olaitan, appreciated the Governor’s appointment of Dr. Thomas and pledged BCOS’ support for the agency’s efforts. She welcomed the courtesy visit and promised to render every necessary service required from BCOS.
