Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, met with night club owners in Akure on Sunday to address their concerns following a raid by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the weekend.
The EFCC had arrested 127 suspected internet fraudsters and vandalized some facilities during the operation.
Governor Aiyedatiwa sympathized with the club owners, urging them to document the damages and losses incurred.
He acknowledged the EFCC’s mandate to arrest suspects but promised to intervene where necessary to ensure innocent parties receive redress.
The meeting was attended by top government officials, including the Commissioners for Youth and Sports, Commerce and Industry, and a former House of Representatives member.
The club owners thanked the Governor for his prompt attention to the matter and ruled out plans for a protest.
