The Nigeria Police Force wishes to announce the passing of an icon; CP Jatau S. Anga (Rtd), a distinguished Nigerian statesman and former Commissioner of Police.
Born in October 1941, CP Anga had an illustrious career spanning over three decades, serving in various capacities such as commandant mounted training school, Bukuru, OC Mounted Establishment Unit, Jos, Staff Officer in charge Mounted Establishment FHQ, Lagos and other distinguished Nigerian police units culminating in his appointment as Commissioner of Police and Military Administrator in charge of Enugu State Command (1992-1994). He was also an administrator, International First Aid Society (September 1994), Chairman, Administrative Panel of Inquiry into the community clash between Mangu and Bokkos communities, Plateau State (1996) and member, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Board, Abuja (March 2001)
Until his passing, CP Anga was the Galadiman Eggon and Chairman, Eggon Council of Elders, Nasarawa State. He was a passionate horse rider, polo enthusiast, and enjoyed squash, badminton, trekking, and reading.
CP Anga was a recipient of the National Service Republic and General Service Medal. He is survived by his wife, children, and a legacy of dedicated service to the nation.
