Toun Okewale Sonaiya CEO Women Radio 91.7 FM and Angela Agoawike CEO Omalicha 91.1 FM paid a courtesy visit to congratulate Franca Aiyetan on her appointmnet as Secretary to National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on 8 December 2023.
Aiyetan is the first woman to take on this full-fledged position since NBC was established in 1992. She joined NBC in 1995 as a Senior Public Affairs Officer. In 2006, as an Assistant Chief, she moved to the mainstream Monitoring and Enforcement and rose to become the First Female Zonal Director Abuja in 2012, where she raised the stakes of broadcast regulation. In 2019, Aiyetan was promoted to the position of Director and was returned to head the Public Affairs of the commission. Between 2021 and December 2023 she served as Director in charge of the Directorate of Broadcast Monitoring.
Mrs. Franca Aiyetan is a graduate of Performing Arts from the University of Ilorin and holds a Masters degree in Media Arts from the University of Abuja.
