A former local government chairman and chairman of the Ogun State Local Government Commission, Comrade Rotimi Rahman, has today, December 6, 2023, earned his Ph.D. degree at the lead city university, Ibadan.
The newest doctor received the academic doctorate award in marketing at the convocation ceremony held today at the university’s main hall auditorium in Ibadan.
The degree marked the dedication, commitment, and passion that Arugbo, as he is popularly called, has for education and his firm understanding of education as a powerful instrument for building humanity, community, and personal development.
As he bagged the doctorate, the highest ladder in academic feat, Dr. Rotimi Rahman, as he is now, has established himself as an outstanding political juggernaut and cum scholar who has towered in both the theoretical and practical fields of human development.
To pursue this rigorous path and attain a doctorate anywhere in the world, especially in a reputable institution such as Lead City University, Ibadan, is a testament to Hon. Rotimi Rahman’s obsession with discipline and scholarship. And I am certain that as he opens a new chapter in his career, Dr. Rotimi Rahman will have more commitment toward socio-economic development, not only in Nigeria but in the global community.
Beyond this, he has set a pace and raised the benchmark for politicians, especially in his community, not to be limited by the avarice of political office, symbolizing the pursuit of purposeful careers outside of politics, which one must acknowledge is the easiest way to address and solve all typologies of political malpractice in Nigeria.
Distinguished personalities, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governor candidate in the 2023 Ogun state gubernatorial election, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, and the Arugbo Crew, led by Mr. Kola Akinola, joined many other friends, followers, and mentees of the new doctor in Ibadan to celebrate the significant feat. There is no doubt the news in the mainstream media would receive thrones of congratulatory messages from all and sundry.
The management of Mailing Daily and Caso Metropolitan College, under the directorship of Azeem Oladimeji Salako, has equally joined in the earliest celebration, wishing Dr. Rotimi Rahman ARUGBO the best as he embarks on a new episode of his history.
