Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said there is no cause for alarm in the judgment expected to be delivered on Saturday, in a suit challenging the victory of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the last Governorship election.
The gubernatorial candidate of the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Ladi Adebutu, is contesting the declaration of Abiodun by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as winner of the election.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Tunde Oladunjoye Thursday afternoon, however said that “We are feeling very hopeful having known we worked and earned the victory with the support of God and the good people of Ogun State who voted for continuity.
“We believe justice would be done.
“There is no anxiety anywhere as we believed that not only did PDP lost the governorship election, the party also presented a porous petition that can’t stand thorough judicial scrutiny.
“We call on our supporters to be calm and prayerful.”
The Ogun State Governorship Tribunal has Fixed Saturday 30th September, 2023 for judgement in Adebutu vs INEC, Dapo Abiodun, APC.
