Distinguished Egba Chiefs,
We wish to inform you that Tokunbo Tejuoso’s issues have been becoming an embarrassment to Kemta Traditional Council of Chiefs since he was installed a Baale of Orile Kemta Adaboyin, 25th day of April 2019 by Kabiyesi Alake based on our recommendations.
Two weeks after he was made a Baale, the immediate past administration of Ogun State Government came out with names of 75 Obas of which his name was included without any recommendations from Kemta Traditional Council or from HRM Kabiyesi Alake.
We later discovered that Tokunbo Tejuoso is into ‘Romance Scams’ and collection of money from people under the false pretence.
A lot of petitions keep coming in from people he scams. All these petitions were also sent to Kabiyesi Alake and to the Ministry of local government and Chieftaincy Affairs by the petitioners.
On our side, we made a lot of moves to remove him from the Baale since we do not have the power to remove him from his Obaship position. He immediately went to High Court, and the court ruled that Kemta Traditional Council and Kabiyesi Alake could not remove him from Baale because that post was not vacant.
The way forward, according to our lawyer.
1. Kabiyesi Alake must write a letter to the governor stating various misconducts of Tokunbo Tejuoso based on the letter we wrote and submitted to HRM, Kabiyesi Alake dated 4th September requesting the governor not to validate his Obaship and remove him from being an Oba or Baale in any part of the state.
As of now, he is parading himself as Alake of Orile Kemta. This action alone is a gross misconduct.
The governor will then raise a committee to investigate his misconduct activities and invite him and all parties involved.
He has decided to attack Kabiyesi Alake by calling himself Alake of Orile Kemta because Kabiyesi Alake refused to include his name in the new list from the 75 Obas to be revalidated
I think Baba should order his arrest for impersonation and total gross misconduct. Then, we can start the process of removal as stated above..
Tokunbo’s case should be a big lesson, not ONLY to Kemta section, but to all Egba land as a whole, thorough investigation must be carried out before a person is installed a chief.
