Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited, Honourable Bukola Olopade has admonished Sport loving Nigerian youths to stay safe and be their brother’s keeper as the #EndSARS protest takes different turn in the country.

Hon Olopade who noted that Nigerians have a right to protest and demand for their rights said it is pertinent to stay alive in order to witness the positive results that would follow the agitations.

The former Commissioner for youth and sports in Ogun State who is also the owner of Nigeria National League side FC Nilayo harped on the need for the youth to remain United while calling on the Federal Government to meet the demands of the peaceful protesters.

“It’s a fact that it’s not out of place for people to protest, it is an exhibition of fundamental human rights, I’m however urging everyone at the forefront to stay safe and sound so that we will be alive when the dividends starts to come on board. Let me also appeal to us to be on the look out for our friends, loved one’s and families at this point, checking up on them will go a long way.

“For those that have lost their lives in this struggle, it’s heart shattering honestly, i pray that the Lord grants their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, may we not have reasons to lose more patriotic citizens any longer.”

Even though Football is set to return fully in Nigeria after restrictions on contact sports was lifted by the Federal Government, Olopade who is also a football Administrator says Football and other sports can only thrive in a peaceful environment where citizens are celebrating and not mourning.

Nilayo Sports Management Limited has also put on hold its ongoing E-Sports tournament, Esports Championship E-Series 2020 tagged “Fuel Your Passion” due to the ongoing unrest in different parts of the country which has resulted to some citizens losing
