The Village Head of Akai Efa, Her Royal Highness Chief (Mrs) Henrietta Efa – Akpere ( Eti Eka), has called on the state Governor, Sir Benedict Ayade to assist the police in the state with motor vehicles to help facilitate the job of ridding the state of criminals and anti – social elements in the society.
She made the call while delivering her address at the Akai Efa townhall meeting on Security held in Calabar yesterday. Adding that Akai Efa community, a fast growing development area in Calabar Municipality, is covered by State Housing, Airport and Parliamentary police divisions none of which has a serviceable patrol vehicle.
The townhall meeting which discussed the rising crime in the area as well as the entire Calabar was attended by security operatives, landlords and concerned tenants including the member representing Bakassi in the State House of Assembly, Dr Ekpo Expo Bassey, the State Security Adviser ( South) Honourable Eric Ani Esin, Mr Dominic kidzu who is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information among other dignitaries.
Speakers at the occasion included ASP Sam Lawson who represented the DPO, B – Division, DSP Arit Ima of the State Housing Police Station, Chief Elvis Bassey, Pastor (Hon) Efiom Okokon and Pastor (Dr) Chris Okon among others.
Leaders of the community unanimously resolved to give the state government full cooperation in its efforts to rid the state of all forms of criminality and drug related offences.
