Hon. Peller Raises Alarm Over Fake Facebook Account, Warns Followers Against Falling Victims of 419

A member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller, has raised an alarm over a fake Facebook account deceitfully created in his name by some fraudulent element to swindle unsuspecting members of the public of their hard-earned money.

The Iseyin-born federal legislator made this known through a Facebook post shared today on his verified account, where he warned his social media followers and members of the public against falling victims of online fraud.

In the post, Hon. Peller explained that his attention has been drawn to a fraudulent element impersonating him on Facebook and chatting with people via messenger, deceitfully informing them of a particular nonexistent online trading and asking the people to invest in it for the purpose of swindling them.

Furthermore, he stated clearly in the post that he (Hon. Shina Peller) is not into any online trading business and therefore will never ask anyone, via Facebook messenger or other means, to invest in any online business. “The purported Facebook account is fake, and therefore should be disregarded,” the post read in part.

In the same vein, Hon. Peller regrettably expressed his dismay about the fact that fraudulent people find impersonation on Facebook very easy because anyone can use any name to open an account, even if the real person already has an account on Facebook like his (Hon. Peller) own case. “Please, be guided so that you don’t fall a victim of online fraud,” he concluded.
