The people of Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency of Oyo State have reaffirmed their firm support for Hon. Shina Peller, who represents them at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
The reaffirmation of their support for Hon. Peller was made known today 25th December, 2019 at his house in Iseyin when some stakeholders in the constituency paid him a solidarity visit.
According to them, the solidarity visit was necessary as a way of reaffirming their support for the federal legislator following his unlawful arrest by the police in Lagos State.
Moved by the outpour of love shown to him, Hon. Peller said, “My people are my pride! Thank you my people. I’m your proud son, and I assure you that by God’s grace, I shall continue to be a good ambassador of Oke Ogun, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.”
In a similar development, Hon. Shina Peller yesterday spent Christmas eve with some Christians in the constituency by worshiping with them at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Iseyin.
While appreciating Shina Peller for worshiping with them despite being a devout Muslim, Rev. Father Joseph said, “Our dear Hon. Peller, we thank you profoundly for coming to worship with us today, which happens to be the eve of Christmas. You are indeed a good man and your coming here today has further strengthened the belief of many of us that you’re a religious tolerant person who will never encourage discrimination of any kind.”
Hon. Peller, in his response, thanked all members of the church for receiving him wholeheartedly and reminded them that though he is a Muslim, he represents everyone in his constituency irrespective of an individual’s religion.
In his words, Hon. Peller said, “Though I am a Muslim, I represent everyone in Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency in respective of our religious belief, and it is expected that I am fair to all. This is why I have come home to celebrate Christmas with you today.”
In addition, he said, “Don’t forget that the major reason I ventured into politics is to ensure unity and peaceful coexistence of the people of Oke Ogun, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.”
Also today, Hon Peller worshipped with another set of Christians at the First Baptist Church, Koso, Iseyin.
