The alert sounded it was 150 big ones I was on my way to Abuja airport !
I am yet to have met a completely de-tribalized Nigerian The man from kano with ancestral roots all the way to the Sudan if Nigeria had his kind of attitude by now we will definitely be a super power ! Married to the daughter of the late Braithwaite he was as exposed as they come London Newyork Dubai south Africa tokyo name it he had lived and schooled there’ from early early’ !!!
Ikoyi based most of his life,his favourite place had been Ikoyi Club for decades That place will be in shock tonight ! That is where he always took me ,Polo club Ikoyi will be in pain tonight Sadiq is no more on earth !

I had heard that name when I was in Law school together with them Dangote and others they were all very young business men struggling but Sadiq was tops then So we immediately gelled back in the nineties in Abuja !
I’m off to lagos Olu but I dont fly in Nigeria I go by road! So pack your things and ride with me we will either stop at Okenne at nasiru Ado Ibrahims our brother or at Ibadan and take an apartment at Base one! Several times I took trip s with him by road from Abuja to lagos gisting all the way his jeep as roomy and as comfortable as a rich Arabian tent !
Versatile in current happenings all over the world he spoke in the most perfect english ,sophisticated exposed a gentleman in the real sense yet could be bohemian! Everybody, I mean everybody liked and respected him I’m yet to see a kinder man !

Well he has finished his shift on this part of the divide to most he has given a good account of himself !They say the voice of the people is the voice of God !
The kindness and love for God and man Sadiq showed here on earth to me represents a stairways to heaven ! It’s still so difficult for me to take in that we will see no more !
Life is like a light bulb it ultimately blows later we hope rather than sooner !
