The Senator representing Lagos West at the National Assembly, Rec. Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, fondly called Yayi has assured members of the Recreation Club Ilaro of his readiness to give the clubhouse a facelift.
Yayi who stormed the clubhouse in company of five Senators gave this assurance on Saturday November 23, 2019 during the official presentation of a brand new Mikano generating set he donated to the club on behalf of his co-members inducted same day last year.
He was welcomed to the clubhouse by members, led by the President – Rec. Shafarudeen Popoola.
Rec. Adeola thanked members of the club for the hands of fellowship extended to him, saying he is also ready to “retaliate” the gesture of oneness and love accorded him by renovating the clubhouse to meet modern standard.
The lawmaker opined that as a Recreator, he is ready to make sure the clubhouse offers serene environment of modern standard that will make members relaxation enduring
Yayi however apologised that he may not have enough time to seat with members to enjoy the euphoria of the Oronna Ilaro Festival, but promised to attend the club meetings regularly.
After cutting the tape to officially presented the electricity generating set to the club, Yayi switched on the set, and “there was light”.
Members and guests in attendance showed their appreciation with loud ovation as name of Yayi rented the air.
After the departure of Rec. Adeola and his entourage, members of the club later settled for “Ariya Repete” with Rec. N.A. Adebiyi as the chairman of the occasion, but was represented by Rec Egunleti.
Others on the high table include Rec. Gori Adeyinka, Rec. Adam Sangosina, Rec. Lamidi Elegbede, Rec. Biodun Olakanmi, Rec. M. Akinde, Rec. Wale Matanmi, Rec. Olaolu Olabimtan, Chief Leke Ibikunle and Pa Wole Owoseni who gave the opening prayer for the event.
Members and their guests were later treated to sumptuous “Asun”, made of healthy “he-goat” and “Sinkin”, handled by Rec. Adewale (Olobe).
The tongues-biting delicacies were washed down with criminally cold choice drinks while Simony & his band thrilled the gathering with his articulated juju music rendition.
