*Fayemi Engages Retired Principals, Headteachers As Neighbourhood School Inspectors.*
As part of his multi dimensional strategy to revamp the education sector, the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has introduced a Neighbourhood School Inspection Programme as part of the monitoring structures for public schools in all communities across the state.
According to the Hon Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Evangelist Folorunsho Daramola, the Programme will recruit senior citizens who retired as principals and headteachers as inspectors for schools within their Neighbourhood to monitor the operations and service delivery, including standard of teaching and adherence to the curriculum.
The Neighbourhood School Inspection Programme was designed in line with the values restoration agenda of the Fayemi – led administration and the need to return the old practices of unbaised monitoring of schools .
Evangelist Daramola said the programme, aside engaging our senior citizens productively, also signposts Dr Fayemi’s innovation in tapping into the wealth of experience of veterans in the teaching profession and bringing to bear their knowledge in standardizing the teaching profession in Ekiti State thereby restoring our eroded values in the education sector.
The Commissioner announced the commencement of the immediate recruitment across the 16 local governments and advised interested members of the public to forward their applications, CV and credentials to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, State Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, on or before Wednesday, 30th October, 2019.
