The Ekiti State APC New Media Team has described the unfortunate incident of violence that recently broke out in Oye Ekiti, as misinterpreted and calculated attempt by some miscreants under the guise of “Students” to discredit the Ekiti State Government, under the leadership of Governor Kayode Fayemi who has been known for swift engagement in civil activities to resolve all crisis.
Reacting to an allegation levied against the wife of the Governor by PDP New Media Team led by one Bola Agboola, the APC New Media Team reminded Ekiti People of PDP members’ track records and penchant for malicious statements to assassinate the characters of distinguished personalities in the State and Nation in general, which has taken over all the New Media Platforms in the past and currently. “The PDP New Media Team under the leadership of Bola Agboola is obviously carrying out the hatchet jobs as directed and supervised by his paymaster, Lere Olayinka”, the APC New Media Team posited.
The malicious news this time, according to the group was targeted at discrediting the laudable empowerment and enlightenment tour the wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi embarked on to promote and liberate women in Ekiti State, by playing politics with the unfortunate incidence that occurred in Oye Ekiti when Students of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) were protesting power outage and coincidentally, the Governor’s wife was on a visit to the town to meet with Women in the local government.
“The allegation was spurious and unfounded as Mrs Fayemi will never sponsor or organise attack on any citizen, let-alone against those Students she has been known to be drumming support for, time without numbers.
“Recently, Erelu Bisi Fayemi singlehandedly paid the bill of a Medical Student who’s about graduating in Ekiti State University, but was said to be financially handicapped. The First Lady was charitable enough to give her usual helping hand to the Student, as she successfully completed her medical programme. To the glory of God, the lady has graduated with the aid of the Governor’s wife. The Governor also offered all the 43 graduates of the College of Medicine automatic jobs. Now, one wonders how a family with large and such kind hearts will now sponsor violent attack against Students who are notably the future leaders”, APC New Media Group queried.
The Team therefore called on the Police Commissioner in the State to effect the arrest and investigate those who hijacked the protest to score cheap political points.
The Team, with the heart of total sympathy, commiserates with the families of the victims and prays that God shall grant them fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
Ekiti State has been peaceful, until some unscrupulous elements in the PDP, led by Lere Olayinka and his Media stooges determined to start fanning embers of discord, in order to discredit the government via fake press releases, as we’re currently seeing.
The Police should carry out a thorough investigation on the unfortunate incidence, which has thrown the entire State into mourning, to ensure that those involved are made to face justice and the consequences of their ugly actions and inaction, the group retorted.
