The convoy of Bisi Fayemi, the wife of Ekiti state Governor, Kayode Fayemi was attacked by students of the Federal university, Oye Ekiti.

The students who were protesting the non availability of electricity in their campuses hurled stones at the convoy of the first lady who was on a tour of the state.

The students allegedly set ablaze the Ikole office of an electricity distribution company, burnt down at least one police patrol vehicle and set  bonfires across roads in Oye Ekiti.

Several peoples in the convoy including Ogunmuko Sunkanmi, Oyetunji Ojo and Kazeem Akingbehin were injured in the fracas.

When contacted on phone, the police public relations officer in Ekiti state, Caleb Ikechukwu confirmed the attack on the convoy.

Ikechukwu said details of the crisis is still  sketchy but also confirmed that a politice patrol van has been  set ablaze by the rampaging students.
