Today is my birthday. Fact. So, here is saying a huge thank you to everyone who celebrated mankind today. I deliberately waited till after 10.20pm to write this appreciation. I don’t want anybody to use technicality to say mankind is not yet 50. From all available records, I popped out at 10.20pm at Teinso Clinic on Nsukka Street, Mile One, Diobu, Port Harcourt. Date? Count back 50 years from August 11, 2019. From then till now, God has been most kind to an undeserving someone.
I wanted a quiet birthday. True. Throwing parties or gathering friends for some “di dia nkpo” is a constant in our home. So, I wanted a reflective and quiet day (for a change). After months of saying no to a ‘boogie’, #WOMY finally agreed. No party. She acquiesed. No surprise dinner either o. She conceded. I was happy. I thought I had won. I didn’t. I should have known there was a loophole. Be careful when you give instructions to a smart person like #WOMY.
With so many masterminds as conspirators, they found a loophole. She hid behind so many senior brothers, friends and mentors that I can’t even dare say naatin. They took it online.
I had hoped for a quiet and meaningful day. I got much more than I bargained for. You know yourselves. God bless you all.
My teen years were superb. The twenties were hawt and ‘chopious’. My thirties were validating. Forties? Been there, done that. Your videos, posts, messages, and all, brought my entire life together for me. I may not be able to respond to all of them but I appreciate every single one. Mankind even got a website (www.kufreat50.com). Correct. Bring on the fifties, mbok.
Let me state that the “ndia” shall happen o. Sometime within my fifties. As for #WOMY, she has proven to be the antiquiet but isn’t that why I love her so? Plus #Ndupukin my Princess and a thousand friends. Even my mother and father in law made videos. Chai!! May you all be celebrated tenfold more today and always.
Congratulations Daddy
We love you❤❤❤
