PDP NWC Suspends Reps Minority Leader, Elumelu, Six Others

The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the new Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndidi Elumelu and six others.

The party’s NWC had summoned them on Thursday over the leadership tussle that led to a free-for-all in the lower chamber of the national assembly during Wednesday’s plenary.

Elumelu and six others have been given a month-long suspension for their roles in what the party described as insubordination.

The six others are Hon. Wole Oke, Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu, Hon. Anayo Edwin, Hon. Gideon Gwadi, Hon. Toby Okechukwu and Hon. Adekoya Abdul-Majid.

The party had rejected the announcement of Elumelu as Minority Leader saying the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila shunned its choice of Kingsley Chinda.
