Gratitude is all I have left
Thanks to a father, a boss, a leader, a teacher and above all one of the most brilliant people I know.
The good news is, time is a revealer, one of intent and character. Those who had issues with you might not understand you fully now but with time will come to appreciate you and maybe understand and see the world from the prism of your lenses.
The role you have played in Oyo politics and in the state in general will make sure of that. You have elevated the level of the players and partakers.
It will only be a matter of time before the people of Oyo State will see the difference between how you govern and how any one else has ever governed or will govern.
Show me a perfect man and I will snow you a fraud.
You had your weak points, like everyone else you are human. And you are quick learner.
A wise man once said ‘ In God we trust’ everyone else must bring data and proof. Never seen anyone so austere with funds, you made sure every nick was accounted for.
Oyo’s finances is a testament to this. The incoming administration will bear us witness. Not only will they find enough to pilot the affairs of the state, they will find enough paperwork to go alongside.
I remember that night in 2015 before my appointment, you were interested in what I was bringing to the state via communicating your thoughts and actions to the people of Oyo State and the rest of the world.
I have heard of several scenarios where potential employers would request ask for place of birth, state of Origin, or family name’s pedigree before any consideration.
Other leaders would have wanted to know my political affiliations and my hometown but you were interested in competence. I am glad to have not only worked but learnt from you.
I used to tell people… that my stint with Oyo State Government is like me doing my ‘Masters’ under Ajimobi.
Senator Ajimobi, thank you. Thank you for the Hard Tough Love in lessons.
Your favorite ridicule is we being efficient but not effective. 😂😂😂😂
You knew we trying our best but with you, good is not just enough; you wanted to push us some more.
Even your harshest Critics will testify to the fact that you are leaving Oyo State better than you met it. It doesn’t matter the angle any body might be looking at it from; This is simply the truth.
“Believe in your dreams, and they may become a reality. Believe in yourself, and your dream will definetely come true.” You truly believed in the dream of a new Oyo State and the dream truly came through.
Thank you sir for the opportunity to serve, for the opportunity to learn and most importantly… thank you for taking me under your wings and making me your ‘Son’.
Thank you for everything…
