The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Bello Matawalle the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the governor-elect of Zamfara State.
The commission said it will present the certificate of return to all PDP candidates on Monday.
Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, announced this during a press conference in Abuja on Saturday.
He also said the party won in all elective positions in the state.
He said this followed the supreme court decision sacking all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general election.
With this development, the main opposition party now wins all the three senatorial seats, seven House of Representatives seats and 23 out of the 24 House of Assembly seats
Yakubu noted that the commission will issue Certificates of Returns to the governor elect, his deputy, the three senators and seven House of Representatives members elect on Monday by 2pm in Abuja.
