**Behaving Like A Court Jester Within A Political Environment
By Francis Iwuchukwu, Lagos
Gboyega Akosile, the spokesperson to the incoming governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has insisted that the governorship candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Owolabi Salis, is behaving like a court jester within a political environment.
Apparently reacting to a statement credited to Salis and the governorship candidate of the Labour Party,(LP), Prof. Ifagbemi Awamaridi, Sanwo-Olu’s spokesperson argued that, “My principal, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will not join issues with a character like Owolabi Salis, who obviously is looking for relevance after his woeful performance during the last Governorship election.
“Mr. Sanwo-Olu is Governor-elect of Lagos State and by the grace of God, he will be sworn in on the 29th of May as the next Governor of the State.
“Salis is behaving like a court jester within a political environment.
“A man who couldn’t win his polling unit but seeks to become Governor through the judiciary can only be likened to a court jester. This is a voyage to nothingness.
“We won’t even dissipate our energy on him. He is a clown that should be ignored.”
It would be recalled that Salis and Awamaridi has insisted that the governor-elect must not be sworn-in as the state governor come May 29, 2019.
The duo who are heading to the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria, to seek a restraining order stopping the governor-elect, Babajide from being sworn-in as governor of Lagos State, are also at the tribunal seeking the disqualification of the governor-elect from being sworn-in as governor on the basis that he is not mentally sound to occupy the office.
They also contended that Sanwo-Olu was convicted in the United States for spending fake US Dollars.
