Our attention has been drawn to some wicked reports circulated on social media by former governor Peter Obi’s media aides alleging that Governor Obiano has denied him access to Agulu, his home town.
We here by dismiss the report as utterly false, poisonous and thoughtless. No such thing has happened to either Mr Peter Obi or any other political figure in Anambra State.
It is inconceivable for anyone to attempt to deceive the discerning public that the governor of Anambra State can deny anyone entry into Anambra after five years of entrenching profound peace and tranquility in the state and being honoured as the Best Governor in Security Architecture in West and Central Africa.
It is even more thoughtless for anyone to allege that Mr Peter Obi who performed his civic rights unhindered among his people in his village in the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections could suddenly be barred from visiting his village for an election in which he is not a candidate.
The general public is therefore advised to treat the story as a childish and misguided propaganda that cannot survive a close scrutiny. We also warn the general public to watch out for more scurrilous attacks and propaganda against governor Obiano as the fear of imminent defeat in tomorrow’s election spreads among opposition elements in Anambra State.
In the past five years, Governor Obiano has worked assiduously to instill peace and harmony in Anambra State. He can never do anything that will send the wrong signal about Anambra State to the world.
This is an assurance!
Thank you
