THE Movement of Yewa-Awori for Governor (MOYAG) has declared its total support for the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement, Hon Adekunle Akinlade, ahead of the Saturday election.
The group, according to its Convener, Mr Olusola Oyekanmi, while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, on Monday, also sought for massive votes from eligible voters for the Akinlade.
The convener explained that the group have assessed the APM candidate and found him worthy of succeeding the incumbent, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
MOYAG submitted that the emergence of Akinlade would entrench justice and fairness into the polity of the state and automatically change the narrative of marginalisation on the part of the people of Ogun West senatorial district.
“We have assessed the APM candidate and we have concluded that he is competent and resourceful enough to serve the people of Ogun State as governor.
“His experience as a serving member of the House of Representatives is an added advantage as the knowledge he has gained from the federal legislature will be used to the benefit of our state,” he added.
The group appreciated the effort of Amosun for supporting the cause of Yewa Agenda in ensuring that the district produced the next governor of the State.
It said that it would not surrender the running of affairs of the day to any external influence, urging the people to unite and fight injustice in any form.
“We are aware of Gov Ibikunle Amosun’s commitment to this just cause even at personal cost. His purported suspension by the leadership of APC is a suspension of the APC in Ogun State. We should not surrender our freedom to anyone. Let us all go out and vote the APM for governorship and House of Assembly across the state,” MOYAG said.
