A group of aggrieved aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state that obtained nomination forms for primary elections into various elective positions in the state have expressed their utter dissatisfaction with how they are being treated by the state government and state leadership of the party.
The dissatisfied aspirants are mainly embittered by the fact of not being treated like other APC members in Lagos state that suffered similar unfair treatment. They reiterated that the monies paid by the Lagos APC aspirants for nomination forms have since been refunded to them since no primary election was allowed to take place.
The aspirants also complained of their total neglect by the party leadership in the state in spite of how they were denied level playing field and their contributions towards the development of APC in Ondo state. The displeased aspirants have equally frowned at the several millions of naira doled out under the guise of mobilization to all anointed aspirants of the party who are now the House of Assembly candidates without sparing any thought for the unfair treatment meted out to the agrieved aspirants.
Meanwhile, the dissatisfied aspirants across Ondo State have on Monday issued a warning to the state government and leadership of APC in the state, stating that failure to address their plight could necessitate withdrawal of support for the party ahead of Saturday’s House of Assembly election in the state.
However, one of the dissatisfied aspirants who pleaded anonymity has demanded that each of them be paid #10million compensation by the state government for taking huge risk with their lives and for also wasting their precious time and resources in the course of wooing party delegates. Also demanded as compensation by the aspirants were Board appointments and contracts that are equatable to the earning of House of Assembly members. The dissatisfied aspirants have also demanded support of the APC leadership for their aspiration in 2023 in line with the existing zoning arrangement in the party.
