Moshood Mustapha can only deceive the gullibles, Saraki remain our leader – _Ilorin West Councillors

Serving Councillors of PDP in Ilorin West Local Government have distanced themselves from the meeting with a leader of the APC in the state who they described as Judas of Saraki dynasty, former Special Adviser to the Senate President, Hon. Moshood Mustapha.

The legislators emerged from a meeting earlier today to debunk their involvement in such mischievous meeting capable of defaming their benefactor, Saraki.

According to them, the convener and councillors from few local governments across the state who attended the purported meeting could be best described as traitors, betrayals, hypocrites, myopic and paper weight politicians who have lost direction.

The councillors unanimously pledged their unwavering loyalty to the political dynasty which made them, saying what happened in the February 23 election will not repeat itself.

In their words: “We have no reason whatsoever to turn back at Saraki who has been there for our people from time immemorial. We gathered here today to debunk an online news which has gone viral that PDP councillors in the state held a meeting with Hon. Moshood Mustapha over an alleged plan to defect to the APC.

“We ask: Who is Moshood Mustapha to canvass us into the APC? At no time did we consider leaving Saraki camp for any other. We think the public should know that in Ilorin West Local Government Legislative Council, nothing and nobody, no matter how highly placed, no matter the overpowering luring can change our minds on Saraki’s cause. If others claim they are living in a dry land, that is never our case in Ilorin West under the leadership of Hajia Aminat Omodara.

“This is beyond politics. It is about ethics, values and morals. People like Moshood Mustapha are ingrates whose insatiability has been pushing them around. They keep complaining about Saraki without hammering on issues – if Saraki is our problem in Kwara, then people like MM should be beheaded for supporting evil against his people for long ago while serving Saraki in various capacities.

“This is an eagle age when we can no longer be used as a willing tool for the few to survive. At this crucial and trying period, we have resolved to identify with Saraki; for *”it is better to be the widow of a hero than to be the wife of a coward”*… in Saraki’s leadership we trust and we want to use this medium to appeal to our people, to have a rethink and vote Atunwa and House of Assembly candidates of the PDP come next Saturday,” the legislators said.
